What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic specialises in the relief of musculoskeletal symptoms caused by structural misalignments of the bones and joints. It is a straightforward method of adjusting the bones of your body to maintain the correct alignment of your spine and extremities to ensure that your body's nerve supply works efficiently. Through these subtle adjustments, chiropractic treatment can relieve pain and discomfort, increase mobility and provide a route to better health.

The moveable vertebrae of your spinal column house the spinal cord through which nerve information is transmitted to the rest of your body. If any part of your spinal column becomes misaligned, then a nerve may become impinged, compressed or stretched, distorting the information that passes along it. This can lead to pain, discomfort or restricted mobility

Misalignments of the bones can occur for many reasons. Some of the most common are poor posture, car and sporting accidents, incorrect lifting, childbirth, falls and stress.

McTimoney Chiropractic

There are many different styles of chiropractic and McTimoney is the name given to one of these styles.

McTimoney Chiropractors use only their hands to make adjustments to the bones of your body. The key to the success of the adjustments is in the speedwith which each adjustment is performed, this  results in the patient experiencing relatively light adjustments.

These light adjustments make the technique suitable for all ages including young babies, pregnant women and the elderly.
